Regulatory Status: MEXC is headquartered in the Seychelles and explicitly states that its services are unavailable in several jurisdictions, including China and Singapore. The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), responsible for regulating securities and futures markets in Hong Kong, has placed MEXC on its alert list as an unregulated entity. SFC fraud Warning: The SFC has also issued a notice regarding suspected virtual asset-related fraud linked to “MEXC” (https://apps.sfc.hk/edistributionWeb/gateway/EN/news-and-announcements/news/doc?refNo=24PR21). The notice alleges that MEXC lured victims into social media or messaging groups under the guise of offering free investment advice, directed them to MEXC-operated websites, and encouraged deposits into designated bank accounts. Victims subsequently faced difficulties withdrawing funds—a pattern that appears consistent with your experience.
Inconsistent Operations: Your documents indicate that MEXC invited you to visit its office in Singapore for a Know Your Customer (KYC) process to unfreeze your account. However, as noted above, MEXC is not permitted to operate in Singapore, casting doubt on the legitimacy of this request. We would need to verify whether such an office exists.
Given these findings, there is a real risk that your situation may involve a scam or fraudulent activity. To assess this further, we would need additional details, such as the method and destination of your fund transfers to establish the account. Should fraud be confirmed, our recommended strategy would require adjustment accordingly, for example, by reporting the matter to the authorities."
